This episode is about reminders for ourselves when we are in a dark valley. Sometimes, we’ll go through dark valleys and when we do, it’s easy to feel alone, scared and hopeless. These feelings are valid and we should acknowledge them. It’s also important to encourage ourselves with reminders of hope when we’re going through a tough season. The scripture reference for this episode is “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.“

For today’s episode I had a special guest with me to talk about motherhood and friendship. We’ve heard that we were created for community but how do we go about creating a community for ourselves, nurturing friendships and being a friend to others?
We’ll discuss all of this and more in today’s episode.
My special guest is Kaysha Whitaker. She’s a believer, wife, mother, entrepreneur and she also happens to be one of my best friends.
Kaysha is a woman who honors God and seeks to obey Him in every area of her life. She’s taught me so much about what it means to be a woman of God and a friend.
Kaysha has a handmade sweet grass basket business where she continues the legacy of her grandmother in hand making sweet grass baskets. Kaysha also runs a Christian apparel clothing line, called For His Glory Apparel, where you can put your faith on display.

Have you ever yelled at your kids or forgotten something they needed for a project and then started to have critical thoughts about yourself? I know I have. After making a mistake (which we will make mistakes because we are humans) the enemy loves to plant seeds of doubt around your purpose of being a mom to your kids. Remember, God intentionally paired you with your kids. In these moments choose to switch your focus from your mistakes to how good God is and how worthy He is. ”Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!“

This episode comes from John 2:3-10. As moms, there is something supernatural that happens when we use words that don’t limit our children. The scripture reads: “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”“

As women of God, were called to daily let go of our agenda and follow Him.
In this episode, you’ll hear practically ways we can stay close to His ways and release our agendas.
Scripture reference: “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.“

We have an advantage of God being Our Guide. He delights in being close, good and showing us the right paths. In Part 2 of Psalms 23:3, you’ll hear the breakdown of this scripture using the S.O.A.P. (Scripture, Observe, Apply, Pray) method. “He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.”

Your thoughts and words toward your children matter. The scripture reference for this episode is John 2: 1-11 ““Three days later there was a wedding in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there. Jesus and his disciples were guests also. When they started running low on wine at the wedding banquet, Jesus’ mother told him, “They’re just about out of wine.” She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.” Six stoneware water pots were there, used by the Jews for ritual washings. Each held twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus ordered the servants, “Fill the pots with water.” And they filled them to the brim. “Now fill your pitchers and take them to the host,” Jesus said, and they did. When the host tasted the water that had become wine (he didn’t know what had just happened but the servants, of course, knew), he called out to the bridegroom, “Everybody I know begins with their finest wines and after the guests have had their fill brings in the cheap stuff. But you’ve saved the best till now!””
